Some tips from the old forum:

Acrylic paints produce a good effect, as does self-levelling gel and acrylic gloss.
Toy-safe paints are great, too: have a look at Humbrol or similar. Air-fix and D&D stuff.
The wig, if glued on, can be gently levered off. Reapply with Copydex, if you want to!
The eyes can be removed: see the Care Instructions for pictures Youtube.
We use Dylon Multi-Purpose Dyes to add skin tones to Makies, and you can too!
Makeup will go on well, and stay on a Makie, too: the surface is porous enough to carry eyeliner and similar. We had fun with eyeshadows and blusher too!
Some warnings:
We do not yet know reliable methods for removing ALL paint/makeup from a Makie, so be aware that anything you apply might leave a trace.
We are working on the ability for you to be able to order replacement heads: coming soon.
Have fun…
