Nah, I imported all mine from the US. I'm up to date with the only things I actually want of MH. Saw Amanita irl, wasn't impressed. CBA with most of the releases really, until boo york and freak du chic hit. And even then, there's really only a couple i'm even vaguely interested in with those lines. Funny isn't it? I dunno if it's just oversaturation and the novelty wearing off, or if Mattel's efforts just aren't up to scratch any more. But toy lines seldom last more than 5 years or so and we're about there now.

I'm not about to sell my MH collection, but i'm not adding to it really either heh.

Misty should arrive today! Very Happy rang Dahl early this morning to ensure she was going to the Inpost locker,  the helpful lady took my number and called me back stating she's set for delivery today! Can't wait!

Well she came, after once again DHL had no idea she was supposed to go to an I post locker.  Luckily I rang DHL and they rang the guy and he was literally outside my house, so I asked if they could taker her to the locker and they refused, so I told them to leave her with a neighbour,  then I get a text saying she's in the locker! Ugh.  And now I've got to do it all over again because my sisters is due to arrive today.

However, she's here, I'm not as impressed with her, no real fault of the makie team, more my fault for getting a White makie,  the skin is just too white, I totally messed her face up up too.

One thing I am really disappointed with though is the white wig, I was under the impression that it's a nylon wig like the others, however after boil washing and essentially ruining it, I'm guessing it's bad quality kanekalon because I've boiled Evelyn's wig and its silky and shiny, while Mistys has just died a death.

Oh dear sounds like you have had a disastrous day!  Shame you are disappointed - I am sure with a bit of work she will come out good in the end...just take a breather.

Oh no! you can dye the white with tea to take some of the starkness off btw, and if you run her through the dishwasher you can probably get the faceup off. Or a magic eraser.
But if the stark whiteness is too much, you can dunk her in tea and effectively tea stain her to make her slightly less... paper white. I believe someone did that with theirs a while back and it worked really well.
I'm getting some white bits with my next Makie so I can always do some tests and let you know the results. heh.

Sorry to hear about the wig, I assumed they were all kanekellon tbh.

Well, willow arrived. Once again the inpost locker thing didn't work so now I've put in a complaint after today.  basically I rang them and they said they could deliver to a neighbour, I said that someone may be in so try the house first and if not either deliver to 117 or 107 as I know both of those neighbours are fine.  Well,  they delivered her to 123, even though my boyfriends mum was sat outside the backyard waiting for them they didn't even attempt to deliver to my address.  Better still, they didn't even leave a card to tell me what neighbour they left it at, so I had to ring them yet again to find out! and out of all my neighbours 123 and 115 are the two worst possible ones they could've delivered too,  115 is NaSs accommodation for asylum seekers and 123 is a four bedroom house with about 8 men living in it that chant weird prayers and once hung out a goat to sacrifice.  Ugh.  She's here though, but that's it for me unless there ever is another shipping option I won't be ordering anymore makies.

Yeek, DHL have always been super great for me but sounds like their local driver for you is just plain useless. What the hell?
Glad you got her safe though, but sheesh. That's mental.

Probably because we don't actually get DHL drivers, we get contractors.  I don't understand why the previous two times they could deliver to the locker but today apparently you need paperwork for if.  The customer service team have been decent, apart from the couple who have told porkies.

Eugh, so frustrating. We usually get one of two or three guys. There's a local dude and a guy with a white van. they seem to be decent enough, if not slightly scared of me bwhahahaha. But we are REALLY close to their london depot so it's not like they can really get lost in the less than 2 miles from depot to my house. heh. You'd think anyway.

they often leave stuff with random neighbours, but thankfully most of our street are pretty nice people. There was the time I had my doll left with a guy who answered the door wearing not a hell of a lot *snort* free eyecandy? bonus.
I was amused.

How does she look? And worry not, we shall FIND a hand! Yes we will.
I think I have a strawberry one somewhere but that's not very helpful boo.

A strawberry one might do, I could always stain it? If you're wanting rid of it if happily buy it.  I really don't want to pay £6 for replacements Sad

I'll post a thread up later,  the forum won't let me post photos off my phone,  but I'll post the three stages of misty haha.  Also, dettol hand soap does wonders for removing the face up, literally got her back to bright white!

Awesome! I have a white one coming who's arriving without a faceup hopefully. She's gonna be um... an interesting challenge that's for sure.
Good to know dettol soap works in case I screw up.

Lol, my classics are both white. It's SO hard to do their makeup! My new girl who's on her way is white as well, but she's going straight into the dye bath. I won't have any arguments from her!

I'm sorry to hear about your DHL woes! I've had UPS woes and it's just so stupid. A company whose entire job is shipping stuff should be competent in delivering packages! Employees Contractors who can't fulfill that function should be promptly fired! I could see not wanting to use DHL again, but on the other hand, you could always give a friend or family member's address from the start. Unless they all work 9-5 too. /sigh. We need to get some engineers to invent iButlers.
