Four times the trouble!

Well, thanks to the sudden swapping of bodies i managed to get 3 NEW makies order and like so many others they came in today  While their faceup isn't done they demanded a clothing change haha.



From left to right: Seth, Alba, Lorena, and my first Silva (Who is waiting for a new IM arm as a prosthetic ^^; ) I am tempted to dye Lorena to more of a 'tanner' color but dunno yet ;-;. Like everyone else with this batch the eye mechs SUCK.

Oh my gosh, they're great! They all look really cool, I'm looking forward to seeing them with face-ups all done (and with the prosthetic arm!).

Sorry to hear about the eye mechs.  At this stage I'm getting less and less surprised to hear about quality problems, it seems to be quite serious recently thanks to the rush.

What's going on with their eye mechs? Wobbly? Broken? Impossible to remove?

I'm not convinced it's the rush natt, they've had rushes like this before (when they did a huge 25% off sale before christmas for instance) and managed to keep it together, this feels different.

Yea, I think Lorena's is from a fault on how the letters were print (She swapped with silva haha) but seth *shudders* I was so worried I would destroy it! Alba was the lucky one and didn't need xir eyes moved lol.

I don't think it really has to do with the rush either, I remember people having problems with the eye mechs breaking before now, and someone from MakieLabs, Jen I think, apologizing and saying that was a problem they were or needed to work on. Lochs eye mech broke, and he is one of my first Makies!

Also, I remember her saying something about them not being able to print the eye mechs separately from the head,, something to do with the serial numbers, I believe. So they couldn't send out replacement eye mechs.

I've noticed that some of my Makie's eye mechs hold the eyes better than other's, and that doesn't seem to have anything to do with which batch they came from.

Not just the 18mm half rounds they come with either. I've had eye mechs that would hold 16 mm round glass and acrylic eyes beautifully, if you put the mech in backwards, while with other mechs the 16 mm round eyes would just slip right out as soon as you turned the Makie back over and held him or her upright.

I think it has to do with the brittleness and rigidity of the current 3D printing plastic, and the thinness of the eye mech piece and the prongs it snaps onto inside the head. The cut out serial numbers don't help either.

Yea Lorena serial numbers were printed oddly and it made it highly weak so when I went ot open it...SNAP *facepalm* so she now uses silva being my travel makie I can't have that snapping on me!

And on another note.... Lorena will be getting dyed tanner because she looks so...grey haha.

They look great! I think Alba is a "dye sibling" to my Hazel! It's not what I was expecting, but the color is really growing on me.

@Missread I ought a couple of barbie clothing packs the day before and did some cutting to get them to fit properly ^^; should really sit down and start sewing

Alba puts the "strawberry" in strawberry milk, but they all look really cool. Lorena's face-up turned out great.

LOL yes, yes Alba does haha but it grows on ya y'know?

Oh no, geese are pretty bad! There are some at work that we all just avoid. Anyway, your pictures look great and I really love Lorena's shirt.

Yeah. Birds above a certain size should be avoided at all costs. I don't trust roosters, geese, swans, ravens, shoebill, or any of the large birds.

Roosters are footballs haha, the rest? RUN. Also add in broody ducks >_>

Ah, well, maybe for you and me roosters aren't so bad, but they can mess you up if you're little. I think there is still malice in their tiny brains. My mom's older brother saved her from one when she was two.

I had a swan chase me for feeding her babies. Just. Birds. Nope!

Haha I been nearly chased by some swans on a farm I traveled to one so I know the fear...their long necks *shudders*

Sadly it is my second near attack by the same flock of geese haha

At my last job we had a disgruntled crow that would try to attack people in the parking lot. It tried to get me one day, but I just hopped back into the car until it got bored of knocking on the windshield and clicking at me. I admit I have a soft spot for crows, even though you can't trust them. I love their voices--I think they sound like they're laughing at me.
