Hi from Sioux!!
*waves*
Only meee
Hooray! A new home for Makies banter. Thanks Purple_Monkfish!! You rock!
So. A little about me:
I'm Sioux, and I'm a faceup artist.
...okay - that sounds like a confession. 'Makies annonymous' anyone? I think I'd definitely need to join!
But you can find me at Littlemoo.me for most Sioux-related doll stuffs - including commissions. (work in progress... as always)
I was one of the early birds to Makielab so I have a couple of classics in my family; Mushroom who is white, Scabz who was white, but I dyed him the day before yesterday (good timing ) and a spooky wired head that was a drilling experiment (before pierced ears were a thing). So I guess all three of them aren't as 'classic' as they started out.
When the Cutie (current) designs were launched I redesigned Mushroom as a cutie (who I ended up turning into (Shroom) Kinoko; girl head - boy body and, most recently, Vrinda; a pure cocoa-bean cutie who I've yet to finish but don't plan to physically change in any way, unlike the others.
But there must be hundreds of Makies in the wild that I designed, faceupped or re-purposed (or all three) whilst at MLHQ... including a number of celeb/character dolls - which I love doing - so to say I'm a Makie addict might be an understatement.
I own quite a few bjds, a Blythe, a lot of figures, and various blindbox toys and collectables. Makies are my big love though as they're the most fun.
That's my Makie history for now (and I'd imagine I've missed a lot, coz there's been a lot!)
But a bittersweet goodbye-old-forum-hello--new-intro from me.
See you in the threads!
*show us yer Makies!!*

Re: Hi from Sioux!!
Yes there will be tomorrow.
There should be pictures of dolls with faceups really, but there's been so much hassle and brick dust from work in my flat, I dare not get any customer dolls out!

Eww, brick dust. I'm sorry. Well, I'll just look forward to seeing Scabz new color for now

Re: Hi from Sioux!!
He turned out pretty good (even though I couldn't completely escape the brick dust, lol). I won't spam the forum though - the results are in the other threads about dying..
I can't believe how many old posts you've rediscovered though!! I'm not sure that all of the topics will give the same results any more given the developments in Makie production/texture but it's a real trek back in time seeing all the early experiments etc. I love it! Good job everyone that's been transferring threads!
