Um hi I suppose
I have dived into the world of Makies, I am getting one printed and I got a "June/Juniper" "Limited Edition" one off Amazon who will keep her company. I was doing really well at not getting new kinds of doll, but then I played with the Makies website and oops. Now I have to make her some clothes. Whee!
Re: Um hi I suppose
Have you seen the patterns from the lab? They're in the sewing section on the forum here and on the old forums on the official website.

Yep, I got those when I was lurking about here Patterns make life so much easier! Yay!
Re: Um hi I suppose
The patterns are a great start yeah! And Barbie stuff can be altered to fit. Most factory made stuff does fit anyway, I prefer the fit of vintage sindy heh. Bit wider in the body. Liv stuff fits too.
Makies are super addictive. I spent months umming and ahhing about it, then they put a sale on and I ended up with three hahaha. I now have um... 14 of them. *cough cough* and it's only been like 7 months!

I just saw your pics on Instagram (I was browsing the Makies tag) - I love your re-covered sofa. Did you do that to a pattern or work it up yourself?

I got the pattern from http://www.debellespoupees.eu/patterns.html and it needed I think a bit extra length on piece 5 (not sure, I just remember it needed a wee alteration somewhere) and got a friend to help because it was puzzling me slightly which bit went where and how. But in the end I had a sofa cover that wasn't pink!
Re: Um hi I suppose
Wow that IS a confusing pattern. Why do some of the pieces overlap? I'm dyspraxic so visualising this just.. .my brain goes into static shut down mode lol.
We need someone to do a step by step hahaha.
But great to have a pattern for it. I was tempted to spray paint the seat and ignore the cover completely but a new cover might just be simpler in terms of potential staining issues etc.

I *think* they overlap to save space on the page, so that you have to print out two copies to get all the pieces, which was a bit annoying at the time. If you have the cover for your sofa still around then you can look at it for construction hints. I got it wrong and had to unpick stitches at least once, oops.

Yeah, the pink one can be a bit much! I'll have to have a go of this, thank you.
