Monkfish's crew - Page 2 P1100011

The girls enjoyed some time alone after walking the dogs. A nice warm cup of tea and a snuggle in front of the telly, great way to spend a sunday.

Monkfish's crew - Page 2 P1100012

Meanwhile I found some of my Bratz instruments and Gabe took a shine to the drums. Nate was NOT impressed.

Gabe seemed to take some perverse enjoyment in making Nate miserable for once, Nate spent the rest of the night sulking and not speaking to Gabe which suited him just fine thank you very much.

I bought new shelves you see, which is awesome.

Zhi and Fizz seem to be getting a little close dancing in the sewing room lol.

Ooh drama. Poor Nate, oh well I think he will just have to get used to Gabe's drumming. Very Happy I'm sure it's not that bad.

Hahaha, he's just miffed because his silly short arms can't reach his ears to properly muffle the sound.

Monkfish's crew - Page 2 P1100010

Well look who arrived on my doorstep.

They claim they're Posh and Becks, but after I stared at them incredulously for a few minutes they changed their story and came clean.

Monkfish's crew - Page 2 P1100011

They are in fact, John and Vicky.

Vicky's a psychic, and a bit too snarky for her own good. John on the other hand, is a bit of a git. He claims he's a warlock, all I can say is that he's not smoking those cigarettes in MY house thank you very much.
He then demanded I look harder for his coat, because he claims grey isn't his colour and tan would be far better.
*sigh*

Monkfish's crew - Page 2 P1100012

I tried to set the other Makies on him, but he was as abrasive as ever.

He was faintly bemused when Gabe confessed he was a medium, told him "good luck with that mate" and wandered off.

Monkfish's crew - Page 2 P1100013

Gabe got on far better with Vicky. Particularly when it transpired that she could see and hear Nate as well, and wasn't about to put up with any of his games.

Nate's decided he doesn't like her, I think he's just being a bit of a baby because she called him a twit and criticised his dress sense.

Hmm.... how does a ghost change wardrobe? I mean, is it all ectoplasm that can be rearranged? Is it residue from his living self and therefor can't be changed? If the latter, Vicky needs to sort herself out.  Very Happy

Love their stories though! A mini cig package in Johns pocket would be cool to see!

haha i think she just enjoyed seeing him squirm. He did jump in front of her and waved his arms in her face, so she got annoyed.
Gabe's pleased to finally meet someone who can make Nate... actually shut up for a few minutes omg.

Need to make some mini cigs yesss hahaha. Once his proper coat arrives he'll be happier too. but tonight i'll see if I can figure out a teeny box for him.

That would be totally cool! He sure looks a bit like Constantine (the exorsist), so cigs are in place. Or a half full whiskey bottle in one of the coat pockets.

It's tempting. He'll likely never be without his coat though hahah. If I could work out a way (hmm.. can you buy iron on tattoo paper to print onto? because that'd be awesome) because symmetry is not my friend.
The butt tattoo might happen though... <_< hehehe.

I have those printable decal sheets. But they make awful tattoos, I tried. I know there are also printable cotton, which can then be sewn on.

Super cool. She looks awesome with his old wig. I'm loving his new character concept. Glad you ended up with these two.

I bought them, they popped up on Ebay as BIN and it was a bargain. Husband took a shine to the boy and I thought they were both cute. (Sioux works magic, seriously) so I snapped them up... with husband's.. eager egging me on ahahaha.

I'm rather loving their new identities, they've really come into their own since arriving. John's already found the creepy leather bound tome on the Makie bookshelf and decided to er... confiscate it for... safety reasons... yes.

I'm super happy to own a piece of Makie history!

Wish I knew what article they were made for. Apparently they were commissioned for some sort of article but that's about all I know.

Yeah, usually there's not much on ebay Makie related. I've seen three this year. Two Made for You ones MIB (one was linked here) and then this pair. I was surprised too.

The other bundle was a huuuge lot of stuff that one of the other Makie fans snagged heh, included a made for you doll and a bunch of wigs and outfits and all sorts. All brand new. Unwanted gift maybe? Seems a bit generous though.

Now i've decided to add "makies" "makie" and similar to my nightly search hahaha. Just in case.

Eep.

I regret nothing though, I love them all!

They've changed a lot, really come in to themselves haha. I'm as delighted by them as I was back then, I don't think that'll ever change. I luvs mah Makies, all 21 of them.

I adopted another Makie from another user

Monkfish's crew - Page 2 P1130311

His name is apparently Jim, though as soon as he arrived he informed me he preferred "James actually"
He's pretty miffed I have now started just calling im "James Actually"

Monkfish's crew - Page 2 23617319232_8ddcf0a4fb_k

He chose a new wig and decided he really needed some facial hair to maintain some masculinity.
He's pretty.

Monkfish's crew - Page 2 23617317812_fc0ed3e76e_c

Meanwhile, August had a lab set up and some sort of experiment going on. He was cackling like a loon while Ig just looked worried.

After a while I heard "It's ALIVVVVVE!"

Monkfish's crew - Page 2 23098758293_ace2a3c71f_c

The "thing" rose from the slab.

Monkfish's crew - Page 2 P1130413
Ig was just making incoherent gibbering noises at this point.

Monkfish's crew - Page 2 P1130414
The creature's attempts to say hi did NOT go down well with Ig.

"it's gonna eat my brains!"

Monkfish's crew - Page 2 P1130415

The confused creature could only mumble "brains?" as Ig fled

Monkfish's crew - Page 2 P1130416
"Eh don't worry about him, he's weird" August seems oblivious to the hypocrisy of this statement.

Monkfish's crew - Page 2 P1130418
"here, let me show you around my lab"

The creature seemed a little bewildered as August ushered him around, babbling about electrodes and cheating death itself.

Poor little Frankenmakie, he really has no idea what's going on.

Monkfish's crew - Page 2 23617318392_ae876b2ffa_c

To explain:

FrankenMakie was an idea that popped into my head when the lab said they'd be sending me a replacement torso for my poor broken boy Ad. I sat there thinking "what am I gonna do with a spare torso?"
Then another user on facebook mentioned she had a spare head from when she had her Hiccup doll reprinted due to a faulty eye mech.
And so the idea started to form. Could we compile a complete doll out of spare parts?
She quite generously sent me the head and I began working on it.

I made his eyes from some blanks I had laying about. One is actually blue and the other is greyish.
I made his wig by sewing rolled felted wool to the makie lab fur wig and cut short the other side.

His eyes are held in with a thumb tack
His head is held on to the broken neck with tape lol.
His right arm is from the old "bag of bits". The shoulder socket is too shallow so it doesn't actually go on. It's held on with a fabric "sleeve" and tape ahem.
His left arm is half stuffed fabric for the shoulder segment and a monster high lower arm rammed into that. it can't really bend atm. I'm thinking i'll replace the arms with IM ones if the lab will allow me to purchase extra arms.
His right leg is also from the bag of bits, the hip socket is cracked but I glued it to stop the crack spreading. it's an old style leg so has a hinge and is quite floppy.
His other leg is a broken upper limb from the bag of bits with a lego lower leg taped to it hahah.
Yes, he's mostly held together with tape so he's quite fragile but he looks fun.
I'll slowly upgrade him as and if I get the parts.
